I am in education policy. I've been in classrooms as a teacher, as an observer, and as a student. I spend time reading and conducting all the latest research. And then I get in a room with educated individuals who are voting for funding for schools or listen to the policy makers who are putting forth these ideas or the billionaires who are so confident that they know what schools "need" and I am frustrated. I wonder if my work is making any kind of difference. Research, of course, is a long game. I want to do something now. So, rather than bore my family and friends day after day, I am going to take 365 days and write about 365 education policy related events in layman's terms and the evidence that goes with it. I will post each day about what's going on in the education world and also share some of the best articles, commentary of the day. I do this for myself. So why a blog you ask? I need to set a clear goal, and this is like an online diary for me. Read it or don't...it's up to you to get educated. I hope you will join me occasionally on the journey.
